Reviews and Ratings
The location of the hotel is absolutely fine, with nice views of the hills and the town right at our doorstep. The rooms were a very good size and clean with a comfortable bed, but not up to 4-star standards. The service was amazing, with really friendly and helpful staff, including the locals at the bar. The dining experience was about a cooked breakfast, but deep fried and greasy, not worth the money. The hotel is held together by a very committed proprietor, making it a place for a shoestring budget stay.
The hotel had a slight issue with smoke smell from the open fire downstairs, but it wasn't a big problem. There was some noise from teenagers outside late at night, which improved after the bank holiday period. The room size was adequate for our needs, featuring a comfortable bed and a super efficient shower. Overall, it was clean and cozy with a good-sized room.
I stayed in a Premier double room at Fairholm, right in the center of Denbigh. The room was clean, nicely presented, and well-equipped, although I found only a little bit of toilet roll left and the other roll partly used when I checked in. The service was excellent, with friendly and helpful staff willing to accommodate our needs promptly. The location was fantastic, central and with lovely views of the hills, offering easy access to the town and nearby attractions. The dining experience was satisfactory, with good options available, but I opted not to eat at the hotel in the evening due to the lack of atmosphere. Overall, a decent stay at a hotel managed by a very committed proprietor on a shoestring budget.
